A vast sea of sand

I came across this video clip titled 'Sahara Sandscapes'.  It shows the rock formations in part of the Sahara Desert, like small islands in a sea of sand, and shows how minuscule humans and human-made objects are in the midst of this vast desolation.  I recommend watching it in full-screen mode.

Details of the trip can be read here.  Kudos to the videographer and photographers for capturing the intensity of the desert so well.  I've traveled in the south-eastern parts of the Sahara, where the terrain is different from that portrayed here, but the vastness and emptiness are the same.

They say that if you took all the sand in the Sahara Desert and spread it out uniformly, it would cover all of Northern Africa.
