Obama's response to Libya: Mark Steyn says it all

Mark Steyn perfectly categorizes President Obama's catastrophically inept response to the disaster in Libya.

“Nobody, no novelist would attempt to do anything so crass after this man is dragged through the streets — after he is killed, dragged through the streets of Libya, God knows what’s happened to him if you believe some of the worst stories out there. And then the guy goes to Vegas. Why not just do it at Caesar’s Palace with a bunch of showgirls? Every American who’s watching, regardless if you’re Democrat or Republican, if you’re not embarrassed by the buffoon who’s serving as President of the United States after that performance last night, there’s something wrong with you.”

Word.

Utterly deplorable!. It's ironic that at least two thousand years ago, the 'Civilised Arab' world considered Ambassadors and Diplomats virtually sacred, so much so that, even between warring States, Ambassadors and Diplomats were protected by both sides as they went about their business, it was unthinkable for them to be harmed.
The penalties were brutal beyond belief if harm befell them.
'Civilised?', not any more.

A local talk radio show discussed the Libyan embassy attack. It was stated (I can't find verification) that mortars were used as well as RPGs and small arms. Supposedly, the safe house in the consulate was struk by the VERY. FIRST. ROUNDS. No ranging shots. dead on target. the gunners had the range bang on, and knew thier business. That's not the kind of skill set you find anywhere, even in the military. Anybody got solid intel on this?

I think the State Department and White House have launched a huge attempt to cover their lack of action before the attacks. It won't work and the ultimate result will be the destruction of their careers.
